Sullivan Building focused on cohesion—selecting materials and finishes that reflect traditional construction methods while creating a serene retreat in the countryside. The renovation included restoration of the original stone and wood elements, exposing structural details and materials that had been hidden through generations of previous ownership.
Reclaimed wood from summer beams, floor joists, and historic subflooring brings warmth and texture to the space. Plaster walls, local stone with traditional pointing, and true-divided wood windows carry forward the authenticity of the era. A handcrafted Mercer tile fireplace—installed by the artisan who made each tile—serves as a centerpiece of the living space.
Cider Press Woodworks contributed extensive custom millwork throughout the home, reinforcing its traditional charm with minimal, refined finishes that celebrate simplicity. The home’s orientation and interior layout were designed to frame views of the surrounding landscape, creating quiet moments of reflection and relaxation.
This project stands as a testament to the power of restoration done right—where history, craftsmanship, and rural beauty come together in harmony.
